Not much is known about Friedrich Werner Groß von Dohr (Jan. 10 1770 - Jan. 21 1834), however from manuscripts left in his estate, we know that he was born in Vienna, Austria as a member of nobility. Gaining interest in music at a young age, he began composing pieces at the age of 17 in 1787. Preferring to bend the rules of music, Dohr's pieces are extremely unique for the late classical period. This album is a collection of his early pieces, before his works matured and incorporated Spanish Guitar.
